What a beautiful winter wedding! The Sexton’s found the right fit! When it comes to finding the right fit for your wedding, it is key to look and research!

Doing the homework with online portals

As you know the Knot and Wedding wire have themselves tied the Knot ( haha pun intended) so now more than ever you will find reputable resources that offer some and I mean some good references. Reason being said is that the two resources I mentioned are paid advertisements for services like mine. Anyone can PAY to be advertised and that does not mean they will be suitable for your special day. With so many options and stuff online , how can you sift through the Ads on google? The Facebook friend ..Who is who ? Any advertiser can be who they say they are not? So how do you  do effective research?

Online Reviews, Vendor Lists and how can they hold a conversation on the phone is key!

One thing I rave about is when I really can engage my brides and grooms in conversation on their wedding day. Having a complete understanding on what they want and need is crucial. As well, I really imply that not every wedding is the same. I must really make sure my couples understand this.

Some of my past clients assume all vendors work well together, that is not entirely the case. The bride that doesn’t dance much or family that are not party people. I can only remember one specific case of a wedding I did which was just that ( One of my best reviews) Another example is when a bride is seeking just “some” music , nothing to fancy and possibly just rent a speaker. In those instances, my company Ready Play Entertainment has a rental service available. Great thing for Heather and Andrew the paired up the right vendors for their big day!

Crest Center Preferred Vendors

As when I spoke to Heather, she remembers doing the research online but got more insight on her vendors through Mary at the Crest Center. I have personally  worked with Mary on several occasions and she is a great communicator! It takes some time to get a “feel” of what you provide as a service so it gives references a chance to know how your work.

Venues as they work on average 50 events ( at a minimum) is a great way to see and hear what they have to say. As they operate a business where you have hundreds of services for weddings, they will key in “really good fits’ for special occasions. In my case being bi-lingual was in my favor. Heather specially wanted certain things with a Spanish-Miami flair. As you can see below and keep on reading, the ” A Team” was on Heather’s day. Here is a clip of having the right fit or the right flow for at least my service as a MC/DJ and Musician. Here you can hear and see me handling the room ( when I had too) This is must when it comes to speaking clearly and being responsible for MC ing a wedding!

INCREDIBLE PICTURES, FOOD, DECOR, Transportation and a GREAT WEDDING PLANNER- Perfect FIT!

I can only say for this specific winter weddings, It was simply one of the best I have personally been a part of. The incredible handling of all needs ( including vendors) with Emma @ Katie Williams Events

It’s evident that everyone’s online reviews lives up to its standard. One thing I always ask and am a part of is being in  a email chain with vendors. As life happens, sometimes our brides and grooms don’t forsee certain things happen . One thing I do recall is the changing of the ceremony location as we were getting rain. Without a thought , everyone was accommodating to each other’s needs. Moving chairs and making it happen within seconds. We are ALL part of a team to make one of the MOST special day’s of  our mutual client one to remember.

As we were getting cues for the rain to subside, we all were just making sure we were sticking to the timeline at hand and making sure the flow was going. The changing of ceremony location, moving of tables, high tables, adjusting the lighting between ceremony and dinner, getting cues from Joe and his team for special dances when they would occur to get the perfect shot. Therefore as you can see, It does take great team work to get this going.

DJ P-LO is more than just a “DJ”

Cuing and mixing music perfectly for entrances, I had to improvise as guests were seated waiting, having the right volume, cuing up special songs, cutting songs at the right time, Whew Its a treat when it all comes together. Most people don’t really know what it entails to make a DJ service run correctly. For me It’s the day of cordinator type of duties ,Mc ing in two languages and as a performer.

In closing, you have to do the research, call up and speak directly with all vendors, see who they have worked with and see and listen to their reviews. I personally make a point to share my current Instagram posts. These posts ( when given permission) give a glimpse of any party as it happens.

Social media is the way to go these days. More and more reputable services will use these means to showcase their services and will have mutual vendor friends as part of their “friends” list. Pay attention to follow them and to see how current they stay with possible vendors you are considering. I see more and more vendors being active socially. This gives you an advantage of pairing up in these circles!

Enjoy these moments of Heather and Andrew’s Wedding!
